JBL Tune 700BT Headphone Review

JBL launched its high-quality headphones in 2019. But even today, the product is still seen on the heads of people outside, even though it is an older model.

There are probably two reasons for this: the improved build quality, and the high-quality sound.

After testing these headphones for several weeks, I must say that these headphones lack a strong value proposition under Rs.4999.

The headphones are a perfect fit for people who are looking for noise-cancelling headphones at a low price.

Build Quality

Despite being an early launch, the design of JBL Tune 700BT leaves its new peers behind. The headphones look more attractive than the competition and better manage to give a premium feel and comfort while holding, carrying, and wearing them on your head.

JBL Tune 700BT Build Review

It is plastic built but you are assured that the quality of the headphones is durable — durable enough to withstand any downfall from your height. The headphones are softer and more comfortable for all-day use.

The thickness of the earbuds enhances passive noise cancellation, allowing you to focus on your music without creating any stress on your ears.

Sound Quality

Finally, I tested the sound of the headphone, in which the vocals are clear at even high volumes. It’s great to see such quality from headphones in terms of sound. The bass on these is also balanced – not too high, and not too low.

JBL Signature Sound and Dolby Atmos surround sound technology give you more depth when watching movies.

Battery & Charging

JBL says that you can use the headphone for up to 27 hours with a single charge. However, it lasts max up to 20 hours on normal volume settings. This is very disappointing, especially at this price point.

It takes about 2 hours to charge the battery, using an older micro USB charging interface. Thankfully, fast charging is supported so you won’t have long to wait if you’re low on juice but it’s not as fast as the modern headphones are.

Connectivity

It has Bluetooth V4.2 connectivity which allows it to connect with any Bluetooth device. Yes, this is an older version of the technology but the connectivity is strong enough to complete your demands from a Bluetooth device.

The range is quite longer than any of its peers. They claim this model to have a connectivity distance of about 100m but can reach up to a maximum of 50-70m in certain situations. However, it depends on the obstacle as well.

Earcups

The earcups are cushioned through soft covers and do a decent job with noise cancellation, which is awesome for middle-budget over-ear headphones.

Although the size fits over the ear, they could have been a little larger considering it’s a mid-budget headphone.

Value for money

The value-for-money factor is missing at this point when there are other options available in the market that offer much more bang for your buck.

Some of its cons are acceptable but others are not, just like battery life. Sure it provides some advanced features such as a longer connectivity range, but you’re not getting your money’s worth if it’s misbehaving.

Verdict

We conducted a thorough point-to-point review of this headphone, and based on our observations it’s clear that the JBL Tune 700BT is not right for your budget. There are a lot of other headphones available which have better features than what the JBL Tune 700BT provides at a similar price point.

What makes it out from the crowd is its comfort, sound quality, and build quality. However, most headphones in this price range come with these similar qualities.

If you’re planning to get these headphones, we assume you desire a high-level headphones and can extend your budget a little longer. Therefore, we recommend purchasing SONY, Sennheiser and other JBL products instead of these headphones.

That’s it for today, my friend.

Thank you. Have a nice day!
